What’s to say about me?
I’m a computer geek … but a nice one (if you feed me).
I enjoy computers (obviously), photography, biking, hiking, TV, reading, travel, sailing (which I haven’t been able to do in quite some time), and (when I can get my butt in gear) working out.
I earn a living as a Sr. Software Engineer for MKS. I work on both Java and RPG code. I’m probably the most technical person in our office. I am one of the most diversified person in the company, as I am competent in System i, Windows, and Linux/Unix, RPG, Java, shell script, html, etc. I am a flag waving advocate for the System i (much to the annoyance of the people I work with … especially those who don’t know the System i).
Politically I tend to be a Democrat, although I have no ‘official’ party affiliation.
Religiously I am a orthodox, evangelical, charismatic, agnostic (translation: I don’t deny the existence of g-d, however I have no use for organized religion). One of the fastest ways to get on my bad side is to try and convince me that one religion or the other is better and how I should find ’salvation’ in one particular flavor. FWIW: I was raised Jewish.
I am married to the lovely, talented, smart, funny, and very redheaded Ginny.
I also run a number websites and list servers … midrange.com, fallingrock.net, Ginny’s blog, Ginny’s church website, etc. I do a bit of technology consulting also … mainly helping my dad and the company he works for with their website and my friend Joe keep his PC stuff under control.
Since I am a computer geek, you are probably interested in what computers I have …
Yes, there is a definite pattern to the system names (I’ve never read the books, but I loved the movies).
Although I’m not paranoid, I recently started playing around with GnuPGP for securing my email … if you’re interested, here is my public key. The fingerprint for the key is:

For what it’s worth, I’ve got a Linked
